Larry Swilling is trying to save the life of the sweetheart he married 56 years ago. Jimmie Sue has always had one kidney – it’s how she was born. Unfortunately, it’s failing her and as such is in need of a kidney transplant.

Sadly, neither Jimmie Sue’s husband nor anyone else in the family is a match. And the waiting list for a donor is two/three years.

Larry said he felt helpless and had to do something.

So, wearing a large signboard on his person, he took to the streets in the hopes that some kind soul would offer to donate a kidney. The signboard reads:

NEED KIDNEY 4 WIFE

…with the number to call.

His efforts have been working! He’s been getting calls, people offering to donate – in the hundreds…

Hopefully, one of those kind selfless people offering to help will be a match for her.

Jimmie Sue says, “If I get a kidney, fine. If I don’t, I hope someone else does”.

It’s beautiful how even though she needs a kidney, she’s thinking of others.

And it’s also incredibly beautiful what Larry’s doing for his wife. Just beautiful.
