Meet father and daughter, Daniel and Daniella.

Daniel suffered a heart attack. You can imagine how scared an 8-year-old must have felt when it happened. But Daniella, brave as anything, said, “What was happening to my dad was really bad. I knew I had to call.”

So she called 911.

Listening to the recording of the 911 call Daniella made, she sounds concerned as any child would, but incredibly calm, explaining to the operator she was talking to her because neither of her parents could speak English.

“I didn’t want to be shy because my dad’s pretty important to me so I want him to be good.”

What a girl.

Daniella was awarded by her district emergency service for what she did, for her bravery and calm headedness.

She’s happy her dad made it. He can teach her ball now, she says.

Her dad thinks she’s a hero.

That she certainly is.
