Armed with just a smile, a portable photo booth and a camera, Pat Graziosi decided that he wanted to boost somebody’s day, make them feel good. His destination: Times Square, the beating heart of New York. His aim: to invite people to take pictures with him in the booth. What do you do when you take a picture? Smile!
The photo booth was really just a big rectangular white frame he carried around, but it was simple and what it got people to do was beautiful and powerful. It had the words “A Smile Can Brighten Someone’s Day” beneath it.
So first, Pat (boldly) holds up a placard inviting people; the placard reads, “Get Your Smile On! Take a Pic With ME!” And, well, he doesn’t seem to be short of people willing to oblige! Pictures, pictures, pictures – smiles, smiles, smiles! The rest is history really. Men, women, young, old.
One sticks out a tongue, one does the peace sign, one pulls a funny face. They all (including Pat) look like friends having fun, taking pictures together.
Pat achieved what he set out to do, wouldn’t you agree?
