Hard to believe, but this cat knows how to do just that, open a freezer – and a tall freezer at that. Cats are pretty high jumpers anyway, but to be able to leap up, grasp the handle on the freezer, open it? Impressive.

His name is Oscar.

He didn’t attempt this feat for nothing. Oh no. There was motivation alright. Fish sticks in the freezer, that’s what.

While the little girl does the intro to what Oscar is able to do, it’s funny how he looks up and stares at the camera like he’s saying “Uh huh. Yep. I sho’ did it. That’s me.”

Cute little girl too. She did a great job of introducing him.

When he leaps up and grabs the handle, he uses the pressure of his hind feet and his weight to swing the door wide open, then he drops to the floor. He then makes a second leap into the freezer and obtains his prize.

In case you’re concerned for his safety, don’t worry, he didn’t get used to this trick for too long. The owners put a safety lock on it afterwards.
