It’s getting close to Valentine’s Day and a lot of us are looking forward to biting into a piece of chocolate to celebrate our love for our own special Valentine, and this news will help us feel less guilty about those delicious bites of chocolate.
One of the world’s largest chocolate makers has reported that there is now a form of chocolate that may help prevent wrinkles and even slow the aging process. This makes chocolate one of the new super foods that are counted towards healthier living.
Their study shows that if you eat about 20 grams of this special chocolate, which is packed full of antioxidants, or flavanols, each day it could help prevent wrinkles and make your skin more radiant by boosting its elasticity and improving your skin’s hydration.
Another set of tests showed that chocolate also has benefits when it comes to doing math problems. Volunteers were given a hot chocolate drink loaded with flavanols and then asked to do mental arithmetic problems. They compared how well they did before and after drinking the hot chocolate and found they did better afterwards.
They also reported they were less tired and mentally drained after drinking the hot chocolate.
So, the next time you plan on taking a test or just need a quick energy boost, consider some chocolate. After all, these studies show that it may be good for you after all.
