The holidays are a time for the season for giving, and a campaign is being put together to encourage people to bake a pie and get closer to their neighbors. The plan is for people to get some holiday spirit by getting to know their neighbors and helping to brighten up their day.
Pass on a Pie is the brainchild of Alex Loughlin, who’s been working hard to boost encourage community relations through the Meet Your Street campaign. Loughglin says he is trying to encourage people to pass on a pie to their neighbor at Christmas time.
He wants people to bake a pie, knock on their next door neighbor’s door and have a nice afternoon of eating pie and talking to get to know each other. Participants should, however be adults or have an adult with them when they go to a stranger’s home. And pies should be in their wrappers so they can see the expiration dates on store bought products.
His campaign is part of Battlefront, an online/and on television project starring a crew of 14-21-year-olds on a mission to change the world. With the help of experienced mentors and help from the Battlefront community, Battlefronters as they are called, turn their issues into fully-fledged campaigns and set off on a journey to achieve something incredible.
So, have some delicious and heartfelt fun this holiday season and join in the Pass a Pie campaign yourself. Get to know your neighbors and help to make this holiday season a happy and bright one.
