What’s the big deal? Frech, who lives in California, only has one leg, plus his left arm also didn’t form properly because he was born with a rare disease that causes problems with the limbs. His left leg was also unusable, so was amputated and he was fitted with a prosthetic leg.
His parents say that Frech is a happy kid, and his love of basketball and his seemingly uncaring attitude about his disability is an inspiration to everyone in the neighborhood. Frech just puts on the prosthetic leg and plays basketball and other games to his heart’s content.
ABC News heard about Frech and his love of basketball and decided to reward the boy for his cheerful spirit and love of the Los Angeles Lakers. They decided to put together a meeting between Frech and his favorite player, Pau Gasol. The meeting was videoed and shown on the local news.
Frech’s parents and everyone who sees the child can’t help but comment on his happy go lucky spirit, his dogged determination, and his willingness to keep on going no matter what life brings him
“He’s such an inspiration for us all,” said his mother. “He’s a sweet boy and he makes us all more willing to accept the differences in other people.”
