This week has been chaotic for the entire economic market all around the world but for many there is actually some relief coming at the same time. Due to the economic troubles gas prices have also taken a significant nose dive which is helping consumers save at least a little bit of money this summer. Gas prices on average have been decreasing for the past few weeks all across the United States and Europe.
This price decline is partly due to the economic trouble and partly due to surplus estimates by gas companies. At the beginning of the summer gas companies always estimate how much gas is needed and this summer they obviously guessed a little high which led to surplus. As the end of summer gas blends get closer prices are forced down in order to clear out the surplus gas and as a result consumers see lower prices at the pump.
Regardless of what caused the gas price decline consumers are happy to see the change. Prices may not be going down significantly or quickly but over the past few weeks the decline has really started to add up for consumers. The general public might not be happy about the current state of the economy but no one is complaining about gas prices right now since they seem to be the only thing most people are getting a break on this summer. Even better news is that gas prices are expected to keep going down for quite some time too.
