Anne Makalian is a 3rd-grade teacher. Her 8-year-old students dote on her. However, unfortunately, her health took a beating; a blood infection developed into gangrene, resulting in her losing her arms and legs and having prosthetics fitted. She’s recovering, fighting her way back, but hasn’t been teaching since.
The students wanted their lovely teacher back and wanted to do what they could to make it a possibility. They therefore got the idea to raise money for her for a specially designed vehicle that would enable her to return to teaching.
Isn’t that so sweet and thoughtful of them? Also shows a great deal of determination and initiative.
They went about setting up lemonade stands as well as fundraising pages online. At the time of the video, they’d managed to raise an outstanding $13,000!
Her students also shared they wanted Miss Makalian back so the younger kids could witness just how wonderful a teacher she is.
Sweethearts the lot of them.
Beautiful story.
