The age of technology is definitely upon us and in many ways that is a good thing. Just this week a Canadian man recovered his stolen laptop thanks to the connections he had made on Twitter. At first the story may seem a little farfetched but after investigating police have said that the story is in fact true.
The amazing story began when the man received a notification from the tracking software he had on his laptop. Obviously the software was unable to pinpoint exactly where the laptop was but through WiFi it was able to tell Sean Power approximately where his stolen laptop was at.
Fortunately Power also jumped into action and did everything he could to recover his stolen laptop; the first step he took however might surprise some people. Once Power received the info about where his laptop was he immediately called upon his 12,000 Twitter followers to help him. Astonishingly one of Power’s friends as well as a few Twitter vigilantes showed up at the bar to see what was going on.
Of course the group did not simply demand the laptop back but eventually through some creative operations the group was able to recover the laptop. Even though the police were not immediately willing to help they eventually did get involved as well. This might be one of the greatest stories of action coming out of Twitter according to many analysts and it just goes to show how much the expansion of technology is helping everyone communicate and cooperate.
