New York Stock Exchange Reopens
Following the devastation of Hurricane Sandy nobody really knew what the situation would be like in New York and the surrounding areas. Sandy brought significant rain and flooding to much of the Northeastern United States which shutdown thousands of major businesses. Fortunately today a number of them reopened which will bring hope to millions of people that were affected by the storm.
The biggest and most important industries to reopen included the New York Stock Exchange as well as multiple major airports in the area. This is a big step forward because it shows just how strong of a recovery will be possible in even the most flood stricken areas of New York. Of course the situation is far from resolved as millions of people are still without power in and around New York.
New York Mayor, Michael Bloomberg, has been working diligently to do anything and everything to begin the cleanup process and while it is going to take days or weeks to completely clean up the mess everyone is very hopeful that things will once again return to the way they used to be. Following the devastation of Sandy the entire population of the Northeast United States has managed to unite and stand together to begin the much needed cleanup and recovery.
