A nine year old in Arizona is now a hero after keeping a truck from crashing on the freeway when the driver lost control due to medical problems caused by a sudden seizure.
Kadie Christy was traveling with her uncle and cousin on U.S. 60 in Mesa, Arizona when he suddenly started to have seizures and lost control of the wheel. Nine-year-old said that she took the wheel because she knew that if she didn’t do it, they would all die.
While Kadie drove the truck, her cousin, who was in the back seat, called 911 for help, and then called their grandma.
Kadie was able to get control of the vehicle, pull it over to the side of the road and hit the brakes. She then put it in park and got out. Kadie says she was shaking from the whole experience. She said that her hobby of driving four wheelers helped her to be able to steer the truck.
Kadie’s uncle is going to be alright as well and both children will get an award from the Mesa Fire Department. Kadie’s mom is proud of the children and said that you never know what your kids can handle.
