This video is a testament to what hope, imagination…and love…can do.
In Istanbul, there was a 64-year-old man (Huseyin Cetinal) who looked at the grey dilapidated stairs close to where he lived and decided to do something about it. He painted them all the colours of the rainbow!
Sadly, the beautifully revived stairs were painted back to grey overnight by officials. However, unbeknown to the officials, they set things in motion because some folks on Twitter caught wind of what they had done. As such, some people volunteered to paint the stairs back to rainbow and did just that! They not only painted Huseyin’s stairs, but stairs in and around Turkey too! All rainbow stairs! What you see in the video are people standing together with their paint brushes. What you see are all the places that were painted: walkways as well as stairs, and before & after pictures.
Beautiful. Heartwarming. A peaceful act of revolution.
The officials inadvertently helped create something more beautiful than the beauty they tried to cover up!
And it all started with one man: Huseyin.
