Stolen Laptop: Man Turns Negative to Positive…

StumbleUponShare

Fran Harrington is unfortunate to have had his laptop stolen not once but three times. Third time round, it was his Macbook that was taken.

However, for the latest laptop that was stolen, he’d installed a security device in it, allowing him to see whoever was using it as well as surmise an approximate location of the laptop.

He gave all the details to the police.

It was later found that the person using it was the teenage son of a couple who’d bought it for him for college not knowing it had been stolen.

So it would seem that Fran wasn’t the only victim, but the young man and his family. Fran got his Macbook back, but the family were out of pocket with no laptop to show for it and a teenage son without one for college.

Fran felt bad about that. He wanted to help. So he decided to fundraise for the teen so he could have a new laptop. To his surprise and the generosity of people he knew online, he was able to raise $900 in 3 days.

He took a bad experience, spun it on its head, turned it into something thoughtful and positive, made some good of it, which was really nice of him to do.
