Three-year-old Luke Partridge sings the US national anthem. Before he comes on, he’s introduced as
a ‘soloist’, which is really sweet, respectful and acknowledging.
He initially has his hand on his hip like he’s doing a motivational speech! Then someone pushes the microphone up, but he goes back to having it where it was, almost as if he’s saying he wants to do it his way.
Luke starts to get fidgety; his hand moves to his back, then back to his belt, then to his pocket, then back to his belt again. At 00.44, it looks like he smiles very briefly after his voice wanders, and then he refocuses and seems less fidgety…for a little while!
Bless him!
It’s a lot to remember for a three-year-old. Even some adults forget more than a line or two when they’re singing the anthem, including some celebrities.
When Luke’s done singing, he cracks one great big smile, soaking up the applause.
Adorable little fella. Confident too. You could also hear how intently people were listening – a gift in itself.
