The official 2011 report on cancer and cancer deaths were released today and for yet another year the news was good news for everyone. The cancer rate in America is still devastating given the treatment required but overall analysts are very happy to report that the overall deaths from cancer have declined yet again.
This year U.S. cancer rates fell 1.8 percent for men of any age and 1.6 percent for women of any age which means there is a statistical reduction in the odds of getting cancer at any point. Obviously researchers are not exactly sure what caused the decline but they say that there are numerous possible causes or reasons. The first possible reason according to many researchers is better medical care in general which has helped reduce cancer deaths around the country. This is obviously good news because it means that thousands more people are surviving their cancer ordeals each and every year. Another possible reason is that there may simply be natural or medical reasons that are unexplained or completely unknown.
Regardless of the various reasons or possible causes doctors say it is great to know that cancer deaths and the cancer rate in general have declined. Further cancer research is obviously still ongoing but for now it is great news to know that everyone has at least a little bit better chance of surviving cancer or other major illnesses thanks to the medical advances we’ve seen.
