Abandoned Dog Given New Life With Prosthetics-- Credit: Incrediblefeatures.com

This week the amazing story of a dog named Naki’o has been warming the hearts of thousands around the world. Naki’o was originally abandoned by his owner along with the rest of the litter but the entire group was rescued by a nearby animal shelter shortly after they were left on the side of the road. Unfortunately Naki’o apparently stepped in a nearly frozen puddle on the side of the road and the water eventually froze onto his paws. Rescuers were unfortunately not able to help him in time and his paws were eventually amputated.

Fortunately not long after the tragic night that Naki’o was deserted the veterinarian that adopted him decided that she was going to do everything she could to give Naki’o a normal life. Christie Tomlinson, the vet, began fundraising to purchase a set of prosthetic paws for Naki’o and after some media attention she eventually raised the necessary funding.

Today was Naki’o’s official public reveal and amazingly despite everything Naki’o has gone through he was just as happy and playful as any other puppy. Naki’o is now sporting a unique set of 4 bionic paws which seem to function just fine for him. Naki’o shows absolutely no signs of being different from any other dogs and his incredible attitude and happiness brings his owner and everyone who seems him absolute joy. Naki’o is a truly inspirational story of recovering from what would have been a severe life altering tragedy but he shows absolutely no signs of change.

The little girl who became a hero in March will be able to return to some semblance of normalcy if these Southern businesses and athletes have anything to say about it. They are banding together to get Anaiah Rucker a new leg.

Anaiah almost died in February when she pushed her sister out of the way of an oncoming truck. They were walking to the bus stop and her little sister was almost hit in the rain. She has been lauded as a hero but says that she had to do it. Her sister was too little to die and she would have been really hurt if the truck had hit her.

Anaiah saved her sisters life but almost lost her own in the process. She lost a kidney, lost her leg and broke her neck in the accident. She is a very courageous little girl and everyone loves her.

Megan Landon is the high school track coach and president for Langdon Athletics a sporting goods store in Greensboro Ga. When she heard about little Anaiah’s leg and heroism she automatically wanted to help her.

To do that she got in touch with pro wrestler and Olympic shot-putter Steve “The Freak” Chamberland. Steve lives in Florida and lost his leg in 1999 in a motorcycle accident. Ever since then he has tried to help people who could not afford to get a prosthetic.

When he heard about Anaiah he contacted Clearwater Brace and Limb in Florida. They had made his artificial leg. They agreed to make a prosthetic and donate it to Anaiah. The prosthetic will be worth 30,000 dollars.

Despite the popularity and size of the NCAA basketball tournament the most amazing thing in college sports this week was the winner of an NCAA wrestling tournament. Anthony Robles officially won the 125 pound weight class for NCAA wrestling despite all of the odds stacked against him.

The astonishing thing is that Robles only has one leg and despite this handicap he never gives up. Robles currently attends Arizona State University and many of his friends and teammates are incredibly happy to see how well he did in the tournament.

According to his teammates and coaches Robles is absolutely an astonishing person. No matter what is thrown at him Robles absolutely refuses to give up and this determination is exactly what is so inspirational about him. The story doesn’t stop there though because Robles is considered to be a great leader and incredible role model for many of his colleagues at Arizona State University.

The final match of this season was apparently no different to Robles than any other wrestling match this year. Robles had an undefeated season so it is not surprising that he is incredibly happy about the entire experience. Overall Robles is happy and honored to be an inspiration to so many people worldwide.
