White House Receives Official Christmas Tree-- Source: AP
Each and every year the White House and the presidential family celebrate Christmas in a variety of ways. Perhaps the most public and most anticipated part of the celebration is the arrival of the official White House Christmas tree and today is the day that it has finally arrived. Of course this is far from the end of the line as the tree will still need to be officially decorated and lit before it is publicly shown in the final form.
The Christmas tree chosen for the President’s family is a beautiful 19 foot tree that has been growing in Wisconsin for years. Nobody knew exactly what tree was being chosen but as expected the tree is in fact magnificent. Of course the first family took this as an opportunity to get some public appearance in too as dozens of people were invited to the official unveiling of the tree. Now begins the process of actually decorating the tree which will likely take a few weeks.
This special landmark also marks what many consider to be the unofficial start of the holiday season. The combination of holiday shopping, holiday decorations, and the arrival of the presidential Christmas tree is the undisputed start of the Christmas season for thousands of people which brings nothing but happiness and cheer. The holiday season is under full swing now in the United States and around the world which means Christmas joy and cheer will be spreading quickly to millions of people around the world.

White House Wives Throw Baby Shower
This week the two wives of the White House held a baby shower for all the military mothers that are unable to do it themselves. First Lady, Michelle Obama, and Vice President Biden’s Wife, Jill Biden, held a very unique baby shower along with Martha Stewart which was targeted directly at military wives and military families in general.
Of course the baby shower was not only these three women; a group of 40 very special military moms to be were also invited to partake in the event along with the two famous wives. Throughout the entire event Obama and Biden offered their support and encouragement for military families, military wives, and members of the military in general.
Mrs. Obama even took the opportunity to give the women some words of advice. Obama reportedly told the women that the stress of raising a child can be incredibly difficult to handle but the strength given to these women is simply amazing. Most of the women are dealing with finances, children, and all other aspects of a family life that come up; all while their husbands are away fighting in the military and the work these women go through is simply astounding.
Overall the special baby shower was quite a unique experience according to the women who were invited. Of course plenty of military support was given throughout the event as well; the women were also given plenty of gifts and treats that the First Family chose specifically for these women.
