Roscoe, Where Are You?
The Institute of Greatly Endangered and Rare Species is a wildlife educational organization whose focus is the importance of wildlife conservation achieved through educational programs that inform and entertain the public about different animal species.
Suryia is one of the sanctuary’s animal ambassadors and he and Roscoe are inseparable. They play and swim together and the orang-utan actually takes the dog for his daily walks on a leash and feeds him some of his monkey biscuits. Both animals also occasionally ride atop Bubbles the 27-year-old elephant together with the elephant’s trainer.
The loving pair have been together for two years and appeared on an Oprah show based on amazing animal friendships. National Geographic Magazine has also featured a spread about this amazing duo.
The founder of TIGERS, Dr. Bhagavan Antle, was surprised that the unlikely pair hit it off so well and so fast as dogs are usually afraid of primates. The founders are proud of their diverse animal population that includes: the world’s largest variety of rare and exotic cats as well as Golden Tabby Tigers, Siberian and Bengal Tigers, Panthers, Leopards, Royal White Tigers, lions, jaguars and one 11-foot tall 900 pound Liger, which is a rare mix between a male lion and female tiger.
Suryia watches over them all and wins the prize for loving and faithful companion to adoring Roscoe.
Friends to the end.
To you guys! (Clink of glass!)
