Deborah Cohan is an incredible, incredible soul. Here she is, about to have a double mastectomy, dancing in the operating room with all the grace, joy and abandon she can muster. All smiles. All energy, dancing to Beyonce’s Get Me Bodied with the operating team, like they’re all sisters…and in a way, they are.
They all danced together for six minutes. And Deborah never stopped for a moment. Never stopped smiling.
She knew what was coming. They all knew. And yet she chose to dance. That takes an awesome amount of courage.
The video has gotten more than 4 million hits on YouTube since it was uploaded about a week ago.
And it’s little surprise really. It’s a truly truly inspiring video.
For all the energy Deborah’s gave in this video, and for all the people she’s inspired, may she receive the same in return as she recovers.

Much love and respect to this guy for being a good sport and for his dexterity! There’s a chance the song he’s dancing to is different from what’s playing in the video; it just happens to synchronise really well with his dancing. In any case, he’s doing what he’s doing and doing it well, like dancing is in his bones, legs moving smoothly, not really caring who’s watching, just doing his own thing with his pair of socks of different colours :).
How many of us are living life like this?
About half way through, another guy comes in with his own signature of dancing :).
Great video for the smile it induces and for this: Whatever your rhythm, find it, accept it, celebrate it, don’t hide it; and find other people who aren’t afraid to strut their own uniqueness.

This is really quite incredible. Awesome.
Animator, Annette Jung, used Lego pieces to create a clever short piece of some of Michael Jackson’s dance moves. In the video, you can make out what MJ’s wearing, including his signature white socks. It looks like he has a hat on too.
Jung incorporated typical sounds MJ’s feet would make when he danced, along with some of his vocal expressions that were characteristic of him.
He spins, kicks his leg in the air, does shoulder moves, arm moves, gyrates - swishes, turns – all in that sharp, bad-ass way the world knew, admired and loved him for.
The animation’s a really creative and unique tribute to a remarkable legend.

Hahaaaaaa! This sea lion is actually nodding its head to the music playing…and it’s doing it in rhythm too. First it grooves to Earth, Wind and Fire’s Boogie Wonderland. Then it moves on to Backstreet Boy’s Everybody.
The sea lion’s called Ronan, is three years old and was trained over months to bop to music. She’s apparently “the first non-human mammal to be able to keep the beat”. As shown in the video, it looks like she was first trained on non-musical repetitive sound before being graduated to actual music.
She can obviously manage different tempos as the first song she bops to is faster than the second.
The newscaster jokes that listening to the Backstreet Boys might be deemed as animal cruelty! Were they really that bad in their heyday?
It’ll be interesting to see what else Ronan can pull off musically!

So while his dad’s on stage, playing the guitar, singing to the audience, 17-month-old Ethan thought he’d join dada and keep him a bit of company. Maybe he’s thinking, “it’s lonely with just daddy there. He needs me. Where’s my cape?”
He toddles onto the stage, holds onto daddy’s leg for a bit, moves away, then starts dancing, his hands in the air at times, body swinging from side to side, at times clapping, truly dancing like no-one’s watching or not really caring if they are.
The crowd cheers at the little fella.
He stays there for a bit, then he toddles off.
Then he comes back again, and really gets into it when daddy gets to the ‘Shalala’ part. He seems to really like that part.
He runs to his dad and they do a little swing from side to side together! The crowd whoops and cheers. Then he runs off again.
That’s most likely his mum he’s running back to.
He gives his pacifier to his mum as if to say, “mummy, I don’t need this right now”, then heads back on stage. The song soon finishes and he runs back to mummy looking very pleased with himself at a job well done.
Gorgeous baby. Very confident. Born performer. Great video.

This lady was 97 years young when this video of her was taken. She seems to be having a whale of a time dancing the Charleston on her Wii. She starts with a twist of the waist and then she’s in – leg forward and back, and forward, and back, a little swing of the arms, before launching into the next move, switching sides, moving back and forth again, then from side to side.
About halfway through the video, she says she’s not doing so good. Some people might beg to differ. You’re doing incredibly well, lady. Brilliantly!
She spins round, moves her hips, lifts a swift leg and the other - forward, and back, and forward…then loses her balance a bit, which she quickly recovers from with humour and style. She gets straight back into it and finishes soon after. A proud score of 1019 shows on the screen.
She obviously still has a lot of fire in her belly, and so she should.
An inspiration to watch. 100,000+ views on YouTube can’t be wrong.

Hahaaaa! This is too funny. This dog right here is dancing, but not only that, it’s actually dancing to the beat, which is somewhat bizarre and cute at the same time.
This is no coincidence – the dog doesn’t just happen to be moving – you can clearly see it actually bouncing along to the beat, exactly on point. It loses it in one or two places and then gets back into it, bopping along. It finally loses interest and walks off as if to say, “I need to listen to something better. Let me go grab me an iPod.”
Maybe the dog was trained to do that. Maybe that’s the bit we don’t see – all the hours of training. Either way, it brings a chuckle.
The dog’s quite the entertainer; its little performance has had over 3 million views on YouTube, and two years’ later, people are still watching it.
