Despite there being substantially more food in the world than ever before there are still significant food shortages in many areas, this is caused by any number of issues, which is why resolving the issues has become a major scientific endeavor. Just this week a new potential solution to the world’s food crises was announced and scientists believe it really might be the future of food.

The announcement came in the form of a hamburger that was artificially created in a lab using animal cells. This was not the first of its kind but it was absolutely the largest attempt at such a procedure, the scientists behind the project feel that the artificial meat was a huge success and they are hopeful that this will one day be the ultimate solution to food problems. Right now the only downside to the process is that it is expensive and time consuming, creating a single hamburger cost approximately $300,000 but they say that many with some minor changes and improvements the costs will drop dramatically.
