U.S. Government Preparing to Sell Wind Farm Leases
Wind farms have begun to pop up all across the United States in the past decade thanks to a number of factors, obviously the environmental friendly movement has helped spur this on as well. This week the federal government made an announcement that will surely help bring even more wind power to the United States thanks to a number of newly available wind farm locations.
Wind farms have traditionally been set up in the Midwest due to location and seclusion, but now the federal government is going to allow wind farm leases on the coast of Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Virginia, which will be the first in the area. The locations are considered to be very prime areas that are likely to be very profitable but up until now they simply were not available for wind power. Various power companies have expressed interest in the land so the government is hopeful that it’ll be a very successful venture over the next decade. Wind power is quickly becoming the most likely candidate for green energy and this is absolutely a step in the right direction. The government hopes that this along with other efforts will help make wind power plants and wind farms more economical and easier to build which will lead to more development in the future.

US Promises More AIDS Relief Funding
Today the United States announced a major increase in funding that would be provided to various organizations and countries around the world in order to help fuel the fight against HIV and AIDS. The announcement came from Secretary of State Clinton and the initiative is part of a larger medical recovery program that will be used to help support many organizations around the world.
As part of the announcement Clinton also announced that the International AIDS Conference would be in the United States this year, the first time this has happened in 22 years. The conference is one of the biggest and most important conferences for the medical industry and thanks to various medical breakthroughs recently this year is expected to be one of the best conferences of the past few years.
The total funding from the U.S. government will now be enough to fund the drugs and medication needed for over 4 million people worldwide, which is a significant increase from the current numbers. More importantly the United States is now going to invest hundreds of millions more dollars into prevention research and various prevention campaigns that will hopefully be the next big step in fighting the war against HIV and AIDS. Multiple research programs are very promising right now and in the future they might just be the answer everyone is looking for.

War in Iraq Officially Over
Today in a much anticipated movement the United States officially declared that the War in Iraq is officially over after so many years. The war has been an ongoing event for quite some time and now that it has finally ended nobody knows exactly what to expect from the area.
Thousands of casualties suffered and billions of dollars spent is all there is to show for the war but the end was still a much needed occurrence. U.S. military officials say that the end of the war is in fact a good thing because it will finally lead to reduced spending and fewer casualties. Those in the area also feel that this is great news because it should, hopefully, put an end to much of the violent fighting surrounding the area.
Of course the war may be over but not all of the troops will be leaving immediately. Leaders have not yet announced when a complete withdrawal of troops will take place but many analysts are hopeful that the area will be clear in the coming year. For now everyone is simply happy to know that the official end is finally here and in the near future the war will actually be completely and entirely over. This is great news as millions of military families and soldiers celebrate the end all around the world that may finally bring them back together after so many years of fighting.
