Greyhounds are commonly used for racing in many parts of the world so it is not surprising to hear that they are often mistreated. Fortunately there are dozens of well meaning people out there that help out and rescue as many of these troubled dogs as possible. One such group of people is making news this week for their amazing story; a couple from Florida that has rescued thousands of these greyhounds.
It is not uncommon for couples and dog lovers to rescue multiple greyhounds in need of a loving home but this Florida couple went above and beyond. Dennis and Claire Tyler successfully rescued over 7,000 greyhounds in the past 15 years and amazingly they have been successful in finding homes for each and every one of the dogs. The Tyler’s truly are a unique couple in that they simply never stop giving back and doing what they feel is right.
Like so many other dog rescuers the Tylers are often forced to drive cross country to find a home for the numerous dogs they rescue. Quite frequently the couple drive thousands of miles simply to pickup or give away yet another abandoned greyhound and despite the cost and the time commitment the couple say it is entirely worth it. This is a heartwarming story in all senses of the word and that is exactly why the amazing story of the Tyler’s dog rescue operation is such a popular story online right now.
A fiery and amazing rescue was caught on camera this week as a group of bystanders banded together in order to save an injured and trapped motorcyclist. The miraculous rescue took place after the motorcycle and vehicle apparently collided; the motorcycle rider was trapped underneath the flaming BMW and if it had not been for the bystanders he would have likely died in the accident.
The most amazing part of the entire ordeal is that video footage is available of the entire rescue. As many as half a dozen people began to lift and push the flaming vehicle and as more help piled in the group of people began to make some progress. After a few seconds of heavy lifting the flaming vehicle was lifted off of the injured motorcyclist so that another man could pull him out from under the car.
The injured motorcyclist was immediately rushed to a local hospital with burns and some minor bumps but officials say he is in stable condition and will undergo a complete recovery. He has not publicly commented but emergency response crews said that had it not been for the help of the bystanders the man would have been significantly more injured as the fire continued to spread.
Check out the video below to see the miraculous rescue take place; it is not every day that such an amazing rescue is organized by random bystanders and it is even less common that the entire thing is captured on camera for the world to see.
Man Revived After 96 Minutes Thanks to New Technology- Source: NPR.org
Today the miraculous story of how paramedics saved a man’s life using new technology broke. The original incident happened in January but thanks to new health guidelines released this week the story is once again in the headlines. In January Howard Snitzer’s heart stopped due to a heart attack and if it had not been for a new technology called capnography experts say there is no way Snitzer would have survived.
What made Snitzer’s story so unique is that his heart had stopped for over an hour and a half but the paramedics knew to continue working on him because their capnography machine showed he had a chance of survival. The capnography system is able to monitor carbon dioxide in a person’s breath to show the chances of survival as well as help medical teams determine what exactly is the problem. The paramedics that responded to Snitzer were reportedly some of the first to have the new technology and they say without the machine they would have been forced to give up on Snitzer well before the one hour mark.
This week the American Heart Association recommended that all medical personnel and emergency staff members have access to a capnography machine because it really can make the difference between life and death. All across the country capnography machines are becoming more and more popular thanks to the life saving benefit proved by Mr. Snitzer’s amazing story of survival.
This week the amazing story of how Michael Fishbach saved a humpback whale that was entangled in a mesh of netting has taken the online community by storm. The whale was suffering and was on the verge of drowning when Fishbach and his friends came upon the whale but thanks to their heroic efforts the whale was eventually cut free and thus rescued.
The truly amazing part however was what the men saw shortly after rescuing the trapped whale. For well over an hour the whale followed the men and their boat all the while putting on an incredible show for the men. Those who witnessed it say it was perhaps the most beautiful dance as the whale continuously kept jumping out of the water in a joyous and celebratory fashion. Obviously the men didn’t really know what the whale was trying to say but it is clear to everyone that the whale was celebrating its freedom as well as thanking the men who had rescued it.
If it had not been for Fishbach and his friends the whale would have been dead within hours of when they found it according to experts which makes the entire story even more amazing. Following the rescue Fishbach and his friends were thanked with the most incredible sight anyone has ever seen when whale watching. Fortunately they had a video camera on board: check out this footage of the miraculous event!
A 12 year old boy is being credited with saving his mother just after having learned the Heimlich maneuver. Ramin Eeschaghi’s class was taught how to do the Heimlich maneuver in his middle school health class and just after returning home for the day Ramin was forced to put that skill into use.
Ramin’s grandmother and younger sister were reportedly both at home at the time of the incident but they both panicked and had no idea what to do, fortunately Ramin had been paying attention in class that day and was able to successfully perform the Heimlich maneuver. As a result Ramin’s mother was able to breathe once again.
Obviously it is quite a miraculous feat that Ramin was able to save his mother but the more surprising fact is simply that he had learned what to do so recently. Ramin’s family says it must have been some sort of divine intervention or fate that made it possible for Ramin to save his mother’s life that day.
During the entire fiasco Ramin managed to keep calm; Ramin immediately called 911 but by the time paramedics arrived Ramin had already saved his mother’s life. Paramedics were happy to see the result and they commended Ramin for what he did.
Bystanders Perform CPR to Save Heart Attack Victim
Earlier this week Howard Snitzer was walking down the street in his hometown in Minnesota when he suddenly began feeling chest pains. Snitzer reportedly grabbed his chest and fell to the cold sidewalk due to a heart attack. Fortunately some braze bystanders stepped in and offered their help and in turn saved Snitzer’s life.
Reported indicate that a group of brothers saw the incident take place and immediately jumped into action. One man began doing whatever he could to save Snitzer while his brother quickly searched for help. The three men began by performing CPR on Snitzer and much to their dismay he was not responding even after minutes of CPR.
Before help arrived the men and a group of approximately a dozen bystanders continued performing CPR on Snitzer. Reports indicate that the group of people took turns working on Snitzer for over an hour and a half while waiting for help to arrive. Miraculously Snitzer did in fact survive.
Many doctors say this was likely the most intensive out of hospital resuscitation ever undergone; they say the odds were heavily stacked against Snitzer and despite that he is recovering just fine. The most amazing part of the story is that the entire event took place in a town of less than 1000 people in rural Minnesota.
Amongst all of the horrible things that have been happening in Japan recently there have been a few heartwarming stories as well. Just today a Japanese search and rescue team miraculously rescued a young baby who had been trapped for 3 days. The child was reportedly found underneath rubble and debris but shows no signs of injury.
According to many the child was found by a soldier while he searched through a destroyed building. The child’s father was nearby as he had been searching for his baby since the building collapsed. According to the child’s family they lost her when the massive storm of water took her out of their hands.
Shortly after finding her soldiers turned the child over to her parents. Of course they were very grateful that the child was in fact found unharmed. Many believe this is exactly the type of news the people of Japan need to hear; with so many dead and such tragedy spreading all across the country many are happy to hear even the slightest sign of positive news.
Many in the area said it truly was a miracle that the baby had survived, especially given the horrible state of the building she was in. Despite massive odds against her survival the 4 month old somehow survived the horrible tragedy.
