Life Experience Helps Develop Brain

A study released this week is shedding some light on the development of the human brain through the early years of life. We have known for quite some time that the brain develops quickly early on but what scientists discovered is that life experiences that can be tied to memories help develop the brain quickly and accurately in both humans and chimpanzees.

Obviously humans and chimpanzees are often studied together in order to find similarities and links between the two species but researchers say it was quite astonishing to find such an interesting link. More importantly researchers were surprised to find that children that interacted with others and experienced many things in the early few years of life had quicker and more pronounced brain development. This means that once again science has found a way to hopefully help increase the intelligence of the average population by encouraging parents to educate their children immediately after birth.

A follow up study is being planned right now in order to pinpoint exactly what kind of interactions help develop children’s brains the quickest but either way researchers are simply happy to have found this information. Each and every day more and more is being discovered about the human brain and through research like this more things are constantly being discovered about the brain; some time in the future this could be used as a major indicator of intelligence or other important features.

Denise Richards officially confirmed today that she has in fact adopted a young child. Of course this is not Richards’ first child as she currently has custody of the two children she and Charlie Sheen had together during their marriage. According to the official comments Richards did adopt the baby domestically from somewhere within the United States though the exact details are unknown and will likely be kept that way.

Richards and her new daughter along with the rest of the family have been living together in their home in Los Angeles now for about a week and Richards says they are all doing quite well together. The official press release also announced that Richards decided to name her new daughter Joni Richards as a tribute in remembrance of her own mother that passed away in 2007.

Richards has always been in the spotlight for her movies and acting abilities but until now she had never been one of the standard Hollywood actresses who adopted children in need. Richards say she was simply adopting the child for personal reasons and is not looking to keep expanding her family beyond the current size at this time. Either way Richards says she is happy that her family has been so blessed to bring Joni into their lives. No word on if or when any public appearances will take place but for now the media is respecting the Richards’ family privacy until Denise decides she wishes to reveal Joni to the world.

Nanny Saves Child’s Life

This week the astonishing story of a women who is now being called a hero surfaced; the event originally took place in May but for personal reasons the people involved did not want the story to become big news. One day late last month 25 year old Jennifer Anton was walking down the street with the girl she was caring for in a stroller when she made a quick decision that saved the girl’s life.

Anton reportedly saw an out of control pickup truck speeding towards her and the stroller and immediately pushed the stroller as hard as she could. At the time she was unaware of how much of a difference this made but since then police have confirmed that this likely saved the girl’s life. The truck proceeded on it’s out of control path directly into Anton but it barely missed the stroller and child.

Prosecutors say the truck’s driver is facing various counts of drinking while driving as well as numerous other reckless charges. Anton, the nanny, suffered from numerous injuries including broken bones but she has been recovering well; all the while she claims that she was simply doing the right thing. Anton truly is a real life hero for her actions that have been credited for saving the young girl’s life that day. The girl’s father spoke out today as well publicly issuing his thanks to Anton for her incredible bravery, saying that he would forever be in debt to her for saving his daughter.

4 Month Old Baby Rescued from Rubble in Japan

Amongst all of the horrible things that have been happening in Japan recently there have been a few heartwarming stories as well. Just today a Japanese search and rescue team miraculously rescued a young baby who had been trapped for 3 days. The child was reportedly found underneath rubble and debris but shows no signs of injury.

According to many the child was found by a soldier while he searched through a destroyed building. The child’s father was nearby as he had been searching for his baby since the building collapsed. According to the child’s family they lost her when the massive storm of water took her out of their hands.

Shortly after finding her soldiers turned the child over to her parents. Of course they were very grateful that the child was in fact found unharmed. Many believe this is exactly the type of news the people of Japan need to hear; with so many dead and such tragedy spreading all across the country many are happy to hear even the slightest sign of positive news.

Many in the area said it truly was a miracle that the baby had survived, especially given the horrible state of the building she was in. Despite massive odds against her survival the 4 month old somehow survived the horrible tragedy.
