Weight Lifting Lowers Diabetes Risk
Everyone knows that exercise and healthy habits are the key to living a long and healthy life but now researchers are beginning to dig deeper into exactly what types of exercise are the most beneficial. This week a new study has confirmed that weight lifting can drastically reduce diabetes risk in women, regardless of other exercise habits. Basically according to the researchers, women who do at least one hour of weight training a week are significantly less likely to develop diabetes later in life.
This is great news for everyone because it has once again shown how much medicine and research have managed to advance towards prevention of various illnesses. Diabetes is a very real problem and now we know that just a little bit of exercise in the right areas can and does dramatically reduce the risk. At this point doctors are working closely with patients to try and determine what might be the most effective weight lifting but that won’t be known until future studies are released. For now doctors are very happy with the results and researchers are hopeful that they’ll be able to continue pinpointing highly effective exercise routines that can help everyone stay healthier.

Cancer Patients Benefit From Physical Activity
Cancer is one of the most devastating things that can happen to a person. Regardless of what type of cancer or how significant the case is cancer is an absolutely awful problem. Fortunately there are millions of dollars being spent to try and understand cancer to hopefully lead to better treatment or a possible cure. Today one of the leading research programs connected physical activity to various health benefits for cancer patients which is great news.
The study essentially linked physically active patients with higher recovery and survival rates as well as overall happiness. Both of these are absolutely great for anyone dealing with cancer so any sort of significant connection to feeling better or healing faster is absolutely great news. The research shows that there is also a connection between workout and activity types and how significant of a health benefit there is. Overall researchers say that as long as cancer patients are able to remain physical active for as long as possible they are able to increase their odds or surviving and recovering by a significant amount. Because of this finding there are dozens of follow up studies being conducted which may lead to more conclusive evidence; for now though doctors are just happy to know that there is at least something they can recommend that might have some sort of impact. Anything that leads to less pain and better or quicker recovery in cancer patients is amazing news for everyone.

Exercise Linked to Better School Performance
Children who routinely exercise are frequently much better in school than their counterparts for a variety of reasons and a study released today confirms that belief. The study shows that children who exercise either at recess, playtime, or at home are significantly more likely to do well in school for a number of reasons. Of course healthier living is also associated with it say researchers which is very good news for thousands of people.
Exercise is an important part of everyone’s lives and doctors say that many people, including kids, simply do not get enough exercise which may also be why so many kids do poorly in schools. Doctors are now recommending that parents encourage their children to exercise and eat healthy both for health reasons as well as educational reasons. Researchers say that children are likely more motivated and more energized in school when they frequently exercise which is the most likely reason as to why there is such strong correlation. Many officials are encouraging schools to begin new physical education programs that promote exercise and wellness in order to improve school performance as well as children’s health. A follow up study is planned into if there is actually a chemical link between exercise and school performance but for now most people are simply happy to see that there is a solid link between exercise and school. This is great news as it means parents have more reasons to encourage children to be healthy.
