U.S. Sees Unemployment Drop Again

This week the United States monthly jobs report was released and it once again brought good news to millions of Americans and hopefully the world. Just as expected, in February 2013 unemployment continued to decline as nearly a quarter million jobs were added. Experts expected to see an increase in jobs but they had not predicted an increase of this many jobs and that performance is expected to help boost the worldwide economy once again.

This is a big deal for a number of reasons, obviously the most direct impact is that hundreds of thousands of people are no longer unemployed, but it means so much more than that. Worldwide economies are continuing to recover and because the United States is so powerful the addition of jobs will affect much of the world in a number of ways.

Experts are hopeful that this steady increase of jobs will once again continue into the next few months, though at this point they do not feel that it is going to grow as quickly as it has been. More jobs are likely to be added but most experts feel that they will not likely be as large as January and February were.

Representative Giffords has been in the news for nearly a year now after the tragic shooting which nearly took her life. In the year since the shooting took place Giffords has made many significant milestones throughout her recovery which included surgeries, significant advancements, and successful recovery in general.

Today Giffords made her biggest and most important advancement medically and emotionally: returning to her job in the House of Representatives. She has been absent since the shooting due to her recovery and while she did attend a few times to vote or make an appearance today is the first time she has officially returned to work full time. This is great news for Giffords, her family, and the entire country as it just goes to show how strong and prevalent the American people are when faced with tragedy.

Upon her arrival the entire House of Representatives stopped to recognize her presence. Giffords was overcome with emotion as she was greeted by a wave of applause and acceptance back to her job. The road to recovery has taken nearly a year but it seems to have finally come to an end as Giffords is finally back to a healthy condition which allows her to return to work and live a normal life.
