Fish Oil Linked to Brain Health
For years now people have been saying that various fish oils are beneficial or healthy for some reason or another. Just this week yet another medical study came out that indicates that certain fish oils are actually even more beneficial than previously expected. In particular the study was focusing on Omega-3 oils and the study showed that consuming the oil regularly can significantly help slow brain aging in patients.
This is absolutely great news because it not only helps keep the brain a little bit younger, it also helps prevent the onset of problems like Alzheimer’s in older patients. Doctors are still studying the findings further but at this point they’re happy to report that there is absolutely a pretty solid link between the oil and the results. The exact amount of Omega-3 oil required to be beneficial is still undetermined but the study is planning to be continued so that doctors can really pinpoint the benefit point. At this time doctors are continuing to recommend Omega-3 oils for patients and they’ll likely continue to do so long after the new findings come out.
This is absolutely another sign of medical advancement that is great news. Only time will tell just how many other benefits Omega-3 oils have but this is definitely a big one.

Jobless Claims Continue to Fall
This week and for the past 4 weeks the United States has seen a consistent and significant drop in unemployment claims as a whole. This is absolutely great news because unemployment is essentially the primary factor that shows whether the economy is recovering or not and many experts say this is a great sign of what is to come in 2014.
Obviously unemployment claims are not the end all deciding factor for economic growth but as a whole this is great news simply because it means fewer people are struggling to find work. Over the past 5 weeks the country has seen around an 11% drop in unemployment claims which is quite significant according to most experts. As the holiday season approaches many analysts are hopeful that this trend will continue and unemployment will continue to drop for at least another month or two, if this does happen 2014 will likely be a great year in terms of economic recovery.
On top of lower unemployment rates the economy has also seen significant increases in consumer spending, which indicates once again that the recovery is strong and alive. This holiday season is definitely going to be a turning point for the economy and if things continue the way they’re going it’ll be very good news for the world economy as a whole.

Researchers Promise Better Flu Vaccine
Every single year a new version of the flu vaccine is created in order to try and reduce the effects of the flu. Unfortunately due to the ever evolving nature of the flu it is impossible for doctors and researchers to be completely accurate when creating the new vaccine and that is why many people still get the flu, fortunately now it looks like something better is on the horizon.
The newest flu vaccine in development this year is not like the vaccines from the past that only target a specific strand of the virus. The new flu vaccine was designed specifically to fight against a multitude of flu possibilities, the idea is that spreading the coverage will in fact make the vaccine more effective. So far researchers say they’re incredibly happy with the results and as such they’re beginning to put it into production for primary use this coming flu season. This has been attempted before but this time doctors say it is looking much more promising, this is absolutely good news for everyone given that thousands of people die of the flu ever year. Of course doctors are obviously recommending that everyone above the age of 6 months get vaccinated so make sure this fall you get a flu shot to stay protected.

World Health Organization Calls for Drug Safety Improvements
This week a major committee from the World Health Organization announced that they’re working on developing a number of much needed improvements for the healthcare industry. As of now there isn’t really any sort of drug quality tracking system or screening system and that could lead to large quantities of tainted or incorrect drugs making it onto the open market.
This is exactly what the World Health Organization committee plans to resolve through some sort of new system. The details are still being worked on but they are committed to getting it setup and ready to be implemented sometime in the coming year. This is great news for everyone because it will finally put a much needed safety check on the drug manufacturing and distribution system worldwide.
The world is being done largely with help from the United States Food and Drug Administration, since they already operate a very similar system in the United States. Hopefully with the FDA’s help there will be an effective and efficient worldwide system to help keep consumers safe. It is only a matter of time before the system is completed and once it is the World Health Organization plans to implement it completely to help protection billions of people worldwide.

Small Businesses Showing Growth
The United States economic situation has been recovering slowly according to many analysts but today a report released by Intuit indicates that one specific part of the private sector seems to be leading much of that recovery. According to analysts jobs overall have been increasing in nearly all parts of the United States but recently small businesses have been making the biggest difference.
Due to the economic downturn many companies and businesses were forced to let go many employees to save money; the fact that small businesses are hiring once again is a very good sign according to leading analysts. Small businesses, particularly those with under 20 people, have been hiring at nearly double the rate they had been before which means they are surely seeing some sort of recovery from the economic downturn.
According to the study small businesses have increased their number of jobs by approximately 1% which is an astonishing number according to analysts. Even a fraction of a percentage increase would be a significant jump according to economic analysts from all around the US but the fact that the number of jobs available increased 1% in a year means the economic growth is expanding to small businesses quite rapidly.
Along with this increase of jobs these small businesses are also reportedly spending more money; all of these factors combine indicate that the economic growth is solid and consistent which is very promising for the United States and worldwide economic recovery efforts.

Worldwide Economy Still Showing Signs of Recovery
A series of reports this week have shed some light on the current economic situation around the world. Through the past few weeks many economic analysts had begun to speculate that the economic recovery was slowing; today however it seems the economy is actually still recovering.
The good news came in the form of Federal Reserve data releases that show consistent recovery in various aspects of the economy in the United States and worldwide. The biggest indicator of growth however is the confidence of many banks and lending companies; unlike a year ago many banks and lenders are much more willing to lend money and as a result the economic situation is slowly beginning to turn around.
As for the recent signs indicating that the economy was not recovering most economic analysts have determined the cause for that. The massive natural disaster in Japan had a significant impact on the economic recovery; fortunately it seems the worldwide economy has successfully managed to make it through the natural disaster.
Of course analysts still don’t know when the economy will be officially out of the recession. At this point many of the world’s stock markets are also beginning to recover so overall economic advisers around the world are hopeful that the economic situation will eventually be back to normal sometime in the future. As for now however it is simply good to know that nearly everyone agrees that the economic situation is improving all around the world.
