Civil Rights Defense Bracelets Developed

Around the world civil rights fighters do not necessarily get the same equal treatment they do in America. In the past 5 years there have been dozens of incidents where civil rights protesters were kidnapped or captured by government or rebel groups and that is exactly what the CRD bracelet was designed to prevent.

The bracelets are small, simple, and cheap, and when forcefully removed or manually activated it will automatically report its GPS position back to headquarters. Many activists feel that this type of security device is very important because it is such a small but effective tool to prevent kidnapping and capture. The wristband, called Project Natalia, was created after a 2009 incident where Natalia Estemirova was kidnapped and killed.

Not only are these bracelets expected to be very popular and helpful for civil rights activists around the world; they are also being marketed towards parents wanting to keep their children safe. The same kidnapping protection features apply easily to children that might be at risk and the tracking and detection system would work flawlessly according to many experts. As a whole this simple design is a big breakthrough that could save thousands of lives all around the world by preventing kidnapping and capture of innocent people.

New Food Safety Laws Being Implemented

This week the United States Food and Drug Administration officially began implementing a wide variety of changes that were planned for 2013. The overall goal behind the FDA’s new policies and procedures is to reduce the chances of a major food borne sickness breakout from happening. This change was pushed for because of the numerous food illness outbreaks in 2012 and many experts say that these changes will surely be great news for millions of Americans that could have possibly been affected by an outbreak.

There are hundreds of other changes being implemented as well that are entirely focused on increasing food safety. This is obviously great news because it should in fact lead to better food quality and regulation while at the same time reducing risks. The FDA is planning to have consistent checkups on these changes to make sure things are being done properly and they are hopeful that by the end of the year there will be measurable improvements in food safety.

These FDA changes are great news for all Americans because in the past few years there have been thousands of deaths due to poorly regulated food sales. The FDA is dedicated to putting a stop to this and these changes are sure to be a big success according to most experts.

Jeff Bennett, a self-proclaimed animal lover and do-gooder, has spent thousands of dollars and hundreds of man-hours rescuing animals of all types as a private pilot.

By day, Bennett, 53, owns and operates three businesses that distribute dive equipment, scuba gear, snorkel equipment and fishing tackle. In his spare time, he looked for ways to be flying his Cirrus SR22 airplane. In the past, he’d fire it up and fly somewhere to have lunch just so he could be up in the air. Today, he gets his flying time in by helping animals in need.

The Florida Keys resident who tries to avoid reading disturbing news pieces gets really worked up over the mistreatment of animals. About three and a half years ago, he made the decision to get involved. He began using his plane to transport animal victims of cruelty, abuse and neglect to safer quarters and on Friday, he reached his 1000th animal, a dog.

The animal activist never thought he’d be moving this many animals but knowing that approximately 4 million cats and dogs are euthanized annually, Bennett realizes his efforts are minimal. He just does what he can.

His efforts are in collaboration with Pilots N Paws, an organization that brings together plane owners, pilots and animal rescue organizations to save “death row” cats, dogs and other animals. Founded in 2008, the South Carolina organization has used more than 2,700 pilots to transport thousands of animals all over the country.

Bennett makes the most of his flights, transporting 25 or more animals on each trip. His record is 51 animals. And his passengers are from a variety of species. He’s carried rabbits, rats, snakes, guinea pigs, potbellied pigs, iguanas, chickens, monitor lizards, tortoises, falcons, hawks, cats and of course, dogs.

When Bennett made his milestone flight, he needed 20 animals to hit his target. The flight took off with 23 animals on board. Debi Boies, co-founder and executive director of Pilots N Paws, says Bennett has an unwavering passion for helping animals. They can always count on Jeff Bennett to fly them to safety.

NTSB Hoping to Ban Cellphones While Driving

NTSB Hoping to Ban Cellphones While Driving

Texting while driving and even talking on the phone while driving have been proven to be very dangerous, despite all of the science behind it millions of people continue to do it every single day. Fortunately today the National Transportation Safety Bureau stepped up and made it clear where they stand by announcing that they hope to find a way to ban cell phones entirely while driving.

This would be a major step in the right direction according to analysts because currently laws are scattered and random; certain states and cities have outlawed cell phones or texting but there is no standard currently. Under the NTSB’s proposed plan using a cell phone would be illegal all across the country while driving.

The only drawback to the announcement is that the NTSB does not actually have the ability to make this happen. With the NTSB’s advice there will surely be plenty of lawmakers trying to create a national bill to prevent cell phone use while driving but unless a decent plan is agreed upon it will be quite a while before texting and using a cell phone is illegal while driving all across the country. Still, for now it is simply good news that someone in the government is finally beginning the process to outlaw cell phones while driving in order to save thousands of lives each and every year; many analysts are hopeful that a law will be in effect sometime in the next year as well.

Bystanders Perform CPR to Save Heart Attack Victim

Earlier this week Howard Snitzer was walking down the street in his hometown in Minnesota when he suddenly began feeling chest pains. Snitzer reportedly grabbed his chest and fell to the cold sidewalk due to a heart attack. Fortunately some braze bystanders stepped in and offered their help and in turn saved Snitzer’s life.

Reported indicate that a group of brothers saw the incident take place and immediately jumped into action. One man began doing whatever he could to save Snitzer while his brother quickly searched for help. The three men began by performing CPR on Snitzer and much to their dismay he was not responding even after minutes of CPR.

Before help arrived the men and a group of approximately a dozen bystanders continued performing CPR on Snitzer. Reports indicate that the group of people took turns working on Snitzer for over an hour and a half while waiting for help to arrive. Miraculously Snitzer did in fact survive.

Many doctors say this was likely the most intensive out of hospital resuscitation ever undergone; they say the odds were heavily stacked against Snitzer and despite that he is recovering just fine. The most amazing part of the story is that the entire event took place in a town of less than 1000 people in rural Minnesota.
