New Breast Cancer Test Available
This week the largest medical testing company in the United States officially announced that they are going to begin offering breast cancer testing to the public using a radical new gene analysis method. The test is not new or particularly complicated and it is already used in some fashion by a few other companies but by adding in another testing company many doctors believe that the cost of breast cancer testing will likely go down dramatically.
Essentially the test analysis multiple genes found in a person’s DNA in order to detect abnormalities or strange occurrences that could develop into breast cancer. Doctors are quick to note that this is not a definitive test but it does in fact show whether a person is high risk or not for developing breast cancer. The good news is that because multiple companies will now be offering this preliminary screening the cost of the actual test will likely go down dramatically due to competition. Regardless of the price this is absolutely great news because millions of Americans will be able to get at least a glimpse of their genetic stance when it comes to breast cancer. No matter the results doctors encourage regular checkups, but this is still a good way to determine a person’s risk for breast cancer.

Sugar Can Improve Cancer Detection
A medical report released this week has some revolutionary and surprising information that can significantly increase the chances of detecting cancer in some cases. According to the research, patients consuming sugar shortly before going through an MRI screening for cancer can drastically improve the detection rate. Doctors say that the idea is really quite simple, the way sugar reacts in the body is easy to see with an MRI so doctors are basically able to follow it as the sugar spreads through a person.
The way this helps detect cancer is that the cancerous cells react in a unique way when sugar is encountered and this can once again be spotted on an MRI. Overall doctors say that this new screening method is incredibly simple to implement and to understand, plus they’re already working on better ways to improve it. In the future many doctors are planning to give patients a simple injection with a sugar based material and then with an MRI they will be able to quickly and easily detect anything that may be cancerous. This is obviously great news because cancer detection is the only real way to treat it, hopefully in the future this will become a standard treatment procedure for many cancers.

New Diabetes Breakthrough Looks Promising
This week the first official study of a new and innovative diabetes treatment was released and things are looking incredibly promising. The new diabetes treatment is being called a reverse vaccine because of the way it works and while it sounds crazy, doctors say it is wildly successful. Unlike a normal vaccine that strengthens a person’s immune system, this reverse vaccine actually attacks the immune system to try and prevent diabetes from taking over.
The treatment is specifically for Type 1 diabetes which is caused by misdirected attacks by the body’s immune system. Shutting down that specific part of a person’s immune system allows the pancreas to continue functioning as normal and essentially eliminating diabetes. This drug has been in development for years and this week marks the end of it’s first trial on humans, the result was a huge success. Doctors and experts agree that this is likely to be the biggest breakthrough in history in terms of type 1 diabetes. This is absolutely great news for millions of people around the world that suffer from it because this could finally be the key to essentially eliminating the disease from patients that are already suffering.

Cancer Screening Methods Will Be Reviewed Soon
Consumer Reports is a widely respected company when it comes to reviewing any and all consumer products. Nearly everything you can imagine is reviewed by them and now it looks like they’re getting into another controversial but important market. Today Consumer Reports announced that they will officially begin testing and reviewing a number of cancer screening tests in the coming months.
The motive behind these reviews is pretty simple, early screening saves lives by detecting cancer, so Consumer Reports wants to provide a simple to understand review of exactly which tests cover what and how they work. Many tests are complicated or painful and offer almost no valuable information so consumer reports is hoping to make it possible for average people to understand exactly what they’re getting into and that is absolutely great news.
Of course doctors are a little bit leery of the results but they say more information is always good. Consumer Reports is encouraging people to always consult and listen to their doctors as a primary source of information, their reviews should only be used as a supplement. Either way it is great to see someone is finally doing some real world information gathering about these important and sometimes lifesaving tests.

New Cancer Testing Method Discovered
This week, through a series of interesting and strange coincidences a new test for testicular cancer has been discovered. The entire ordeal started when a man reportedly posted pictures of a pregnancy test that he himself used, when the results came back positive he was a little confused. Fortunately the kind folks are Reddit suggested that it could be a very bad sign, and further research was conducted.
After a number of interesting theories came up, the general consensus was that the pregnancy test was likely detecting a testicular tumor that produces the same hormones as pregnant women. The man took the advice and went to a doctor, where it was confirmed that he did in fact have testicular cancer. The truly good news is that, while this test method has apparently been known about for a while, this story has managed to spread the knowledge to millions of people.
Of course doctors are not recommending that pregnancy tests be used as the only form of testing, but they are now beginning to test just how effective the test is. Researchers say that they are very hopeful that a simple pregnancy test might be the trick to early detection of testicular cancer, which would absolutely be great news for men all around the globe.

Rapid HIV Test Gets Federal Approval
Today the United States government approved what could be the biggest step forwards in HIV testing. For years various researchers and medical professionals have been working on creating an effective and fast HIV test that can be administered at home, and that has finally happened thanks to this approval. The new test claims to be as simple as a normal pregnancy test and will likely cost about the same amount for users.
The at home HIV test will likely not be availble for at least a few more months but sometime soon it will in fact be available to anyone and everyone in pharmacies around the United States. The test is absolutely revolutionary and many medical experts feel that this rapid HIV test will absolutely be great for the HIV effort and may in the long run have a major impact on preventing the spread of HIV and AIDS.
Overall the new at home HIV test is absolutely a great idea for a number of reasons. Never before has it been simple, cheap, or fast to test for HIV and as long as this test is in fact as effective as they claim it will absolutely revolutionize the industry. The fact that it now has an official approval from the government and the FDA is absolutely great and means it will likely be available soon.

Breast Exams Prove Valuable
For years doctors and medical researchers have been fighting over whether or not breast exams and mammograms were worth the time, risk, and cost associated with them for women over 40 and today we have solid proof that they are worth it. The report published this week shows that those women that do receive consistent and frequent mammograms are significantly less likely to have major developers of cancer go undetected.
Breast cancer is a big problem and without routine screening it is nearly impossible to do anything about. That is precisely why doctors are now saying that mammograms and other screening methods are most definitely worth the time and money every single year. As more and more women have began to routinely get screened they’ve shown significant reductions in late detection of breast cancer which is great news for everyone.
Perhaps the only major drawback to frequent testing reported was the increased chance of false positive reports. Doctors say these are far from common and overall the risk is most definitely worth the time given how significant the potential reward can be. Doctors are now encouraging women to have a mammogram as often as possible to increase the length of their lives. A simple mammogram really can drastically change and save lives which is absolutely amazing news for anyone and everyone. Doctors and medical experts say this could be the best step forward in breast cancer research and it is also one of the simplest to do so do your part today.

New Test May Save Millions
This week a group of researchers came out with what could be a lifesaving test for babies and infants. Health experts agree that syphilis is a significant risk for newborns in many under developed countries and for a variety of reasons they have never been able to effectively test for or treat the disease. Fortunately the new test is not only more accurate and more readily available, it is also significantly cheaper.
The entire purpose of the research program was to find or develop a cheaper alternative to current syphilis testing and that is exactly what they did. The new syphilis test is expected to cost no more than a dollar per test which means millions of them could quickly and easily be distributed to pregnant women in under developed countries. By effectively testing in these areas doctors would be able to at least begin some sort of treatment which many analysts say would likely be able to save the lives of millions of babies each and every year.
At this point the test is completely finished and the design is finalized so it all comes down to actual manufacturing. It will likely be at least a few months before the tests are being produced or distributed but experts are hopeful that in a relatively short time period the test will be available to those that so desperately need in all around the world.

Study Finds Early Autism Warning Signs
Autism is a problem that affects millions of families around the world every single year. Due to the nature of autism it is often quite difficult to detect in children until they have reached a certain age and like many illnesses or mental problems it becomes less and less effective to treat as the patient gets older. Fortunately today a study released showed a significant connection between one specific test and early warning signs that point towards autism in children.
Obviously detecting autism is not good news, but the fact that doctors may be able to detect it significantly earlier than before is very good news. The test is remarkably simple according to the report and if future testing shows that it is effective it will likely be implemented by nearly all doctors. The idea is that children exhibit a specific brain function when eye contact is made with others and the study shows that children with autism show a significantly abnormal reaction through brainwaves.
Doctors are still planning and developing a follow up test but they are hopeful that this simple method of detection will work in a majority of cases. Most researchers say that anything and everything they can do to detect autism sooner is good news for anyone and everyone. Doctors are already beginning to implement the test and in the coming months we should begin to see a better correlation between autism and the actual test results so that a more conclusive report can be published.

New Autism Screening Confirmed As Effective
For years doctors and researchers have been working to find some type of screening or test procedure that works well for detecting autism in young children and it seems the most recent screening procedure is the most effective so far. Researchers say that the new screening procedure is nearly 100% accurate in children as young as 1 year old.
Amazingly researchers say that this new screening method is more successful because it doesn’t rely on medicine or medical testing; it relies on parents experience and general observation. The list of over 20 simple questions was created for parents and in general the questions are very easy to answer; by the end of the screening most parents are able to say for sure if their child does or does not have signs of autism.
Of course there is still plenty of research being conducted according to leading doctors. No simple screening is enough according to most doctors though they do say it is a great way to get a basic idea. Further research is also being conducted to potentially find a cause or cure for autism though at this time it is difficult to say when a breakthrough may be found.
Doctors recommend that parents use this new checklist screening method with their young children frequently. Obviously this will not prevent or affect the development of autism at all but as always it is important to detect any type of problem early with children and that is what this screening is for.
